Family
History:
This patient’s mother is alive but father is deceased. Patient has
had six children but only four survived and are alive. She is a widow. The
patient has no one to care for her.
Family Support:
She earns about N 50.00 (< $0.40 USD) daily as a trader.
Medical
History:
Patient was unable to have hernia surgery due to lack of finances. Patient
has suffered with this hernia for the last 10 years (1995). Lack of financial
resources prevented surgery for this patient. When patient asked for help
she was given medication to help with the symptoms only.
Post-Op
Patient is otherwise healthy and presents no pre- or post-surgery complications.
She is placed on antibiotics and analgesics. She is responding very well.
She is placed on normal diet doing well.
